hey mindy. how were your holidays? my family does not celebrate christmas, though we do celebrate chinese new year.
it is a time when all my family members and relatives get together for a reunion party. this happens once a year, just like christmas. we clothe the house in chinese greetings and in red cloth. this is to bring good luck and to scare away evil spirits, as the chinese believe. we have two days as public holiday for the chinese new year period. during that time, we give two oranges to our elders, wishing them the best of health, longevity, wealth, etc. usually, we receive red packets when we give oranges to our elders.
it is school time now and we have a major exam coming up some where in october.my 12th birthday is this friday, 5th of jan...i'm getting excited! nowadays, my life is kinda pressurised. i have to get used to the new year and the workload(groans...). and with the upcoming exams, the syllabus will be taught in a MAD RUSH! we have to cover everything before the major exam.guess have to go and get studying! talk sometime later!=)
